I got into Mad men after I saw CNN article about how it was the best show on television. I have not been disappointed by any stretch. I am excited for the final season just to see what happens to Don Draper.
I do not like that AMC has split the final season into two parts it's a mere cash grab. And I'm also not a fan of fact that they're releasing part one on DVD/Blu-ray they are making us by the final season twice. At the time of writing this review the Blu-ray was $33 whereas normal season with all the episodes usually run under $40. It's just not a good business practice and I completely disagree with.
With that being said this was one of my more enjoyable seasons (or should I say half seasons) of madmen. The thing I love about madmen over most other shows is that the writers had their exit strategy and they didn't run into the ground. Sony shows nowadays they keep going and going and jumped the shark a.k.a. Dexter and it just ends horribly. I like a show that knows it has a finite number of episodes and the writers know when to pull the plug a.k.a. Seinfeld. Many shows nowadays on television overstay their welcome. I think madmen is going to have a satisfying conclusion in the end so I'm excited.
